- 8-10 medium tomatillos husked and rinsed
- 1 jalapeƱo or serrano pepper adjust to taste
- 1/2 cup fresh cilantro leaves
- 1/4 cup white onion chopped
- 1 garlic clove
- 1 tbsp lime juice
- Salt to taste
Boil tomatillos and the pepper in a medium saucepan filled with water for about 8-10 minutes or until softened.
Drain and allow them to cool slightly.
Transfer the tomatillos, pepper, cilantro, onion, garlic, lime juice, and salt to a blender or food processor.
Blend until smooth or desired consistency is reached.
Taste and adjust salt or lime juice as needed.
Serve immediately or refrigerate in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
